Firestorm Armada - Transporting the fleet

Okay, you've got a Firestorm Armada fleet sitting in front of you, how are you going to get it to the game store to play a friendly game?

Well, the fine folks are Outrider hobbies are here to save the day

Transporting and storing your lovingly painted miniatures is always a challenge. Over the last few years we have evolved from jury rigged tackle boxes, thread boxes and gun cases to the marvel of custom laser cut foam miniature trays... that's right people, they make them with Lasers!

I picked these up at the same store I bought my Firestorm miniatures and really like them. It is a standard 4" deep foam tray with enough slots cut out for the starter fleet and a carrier.

The nice thing about the tray is you can store your minis with the stands permanently attached to the ship and still have plenty of room. Or if you leave the flight stands removable you can double or triple stack ships in each slot.

One of the great thing about the Outrider Hobbies trays are that they include the foam cutouts. You can use this to create lids or spacers between models in the same slot.

The deep cutouts fit the ship and base perfectly. Here you can see how much room is left over when a ship is placed in the tray.

Here is the Tray with a few ships of each size. The tray can hold an entire starter set plus the carrier!

Below is my son's Dindrenzi tray. Just like the tray above it is 4" deep and fits the starter fleet plus carrier.

All in all a great way to store your fleet in style. For info on these trays please contact Outrider Hobbies at http://outriderhobbies.com/

Until next time!

  2. Do you know if these are still for sale at outrider? I've got my own Sorylian fleet getting together and they look fantastic.
