Robotech RPG Tactics has finally arrived!
Last week a rather large box arrived on our doorstep containing Wave 1 of the Robotech RPG Tactics Kickstarter. It has, so far, been the most tumultuous and controversial of all the Kickstarters I've participated in.
Here's a brief history of the Kickstarter to date. The Kickstarter campaign itself was very exciting with ROBOTECH RPG Tactics making 1.4 million dollars. the pledge drive ended on May 20th 2013. Wave 1 took 18 months to finally arrive on our doorstep. How long for the second and final wave of miniatures is anybodies guess.
What we got.
I pledged at the Showdown level, basically a double pledge, in order to give my son one of the two game boxes. In addition to the boxed games and unlocked goodies from the Kickstarter itself we also ordered a lot of extra goodies that sadly won't arrive until Wave 2.
Wave One included
- 2x Robotech RPG Tactics Main Boxed Games (totaling 10 Valkyrie Fighters, 10 Valkyrie Guardians, 12 Valkyrie Battloids, 4 Tomahawk Destroids, 4 Defender Destroids, 24 Regult Battlepods, 2 Glaug Officer’s Battlepods, 2 Quel-Regult Recon Pods, and 2 Quel-Gulnau Recovery Pods)
- 2x Battle Cry Art Prints
- 8x Valkyrie Fighters
- 8x Valkyrie Guardians
- 8x Valkyrie Battloids
- 4x Spartan Destroids
- 4x Phalanx Destroids
- 24x Regult Battlepods
- 8x Artillery Regult Battlepods
- 2x Quel-Regult Recon Pods
- 2x Glaug Officer’s Battlepods
- 2x Quel-Gulnau Recovery Pods
It's a lot of plastic! Fun eh?
In a separate post we will be looking at and reviewing the Robotech models as well as the rules.
So now the fun part, assembling and painting all these goodies.
Hang tight for updates!
