Fate of a Nation redux - a Six Day War Battle Report Part II

The First battle, Encounter, did not go well for the Jordanians. Our second game would see the Israelis go on the offensive, attacking Jordan in Hold the Line.

We would use the same forces as the last game.

Hold the Line sees the Jordanians on Defense, with Mark deploying his Infantry, 155mm Arty and 2 Tank Platoons.

The Israelis would throw everything at them from start.

Jordanian Defenses

Turns 1 and 2...

Dumb placement on may part results in Mark getting a juicy Artillery Target. 2 Ishermans are left burning!

Say it ain't so!

On the other flank the Jordanian Ambush pops, doubling the number of Pattons facing my two Sho'ts.

despite firing with 6 Pattons they either miss or bounce.

Return fire from the Sho'ts sees off the Ambushing platoon in style.

The rest of the Israeli armor makes a detour towards the ambushing platoon.

A second round of shooting sees combined Artillery and Tank fire takes out one Sho't and bails the other. They pass their moral check and stay in the game.

Magach move to support the embattled Shot's

Near the Objective Mark's Company commander puts on a good show, taking out a Magach at range.

And Reinforcements are starting to pour in.

Long Range Fire claims another Magach but I manage to kill the last of the Tanks in the woods.

things are starting to look bleak for the Israelis but it's not over yet. I've got 4 operational Tanks left.

Quickly though the Remaining ISherman is destroyed by the Jordanian CO. The Israeli CO dives into the woods after him... only to die horribly in the ensuing shoot out.

Last Ditch attempt to take out the Jordanian CO.
Ultimately the Jordanian Infantry platoon breaks and runs after multiple tests, 120mm mortar fire providing the last hit needed to send them off.

The Jordanian CO Finally bites the big on, with an Israeli AT jeep taking it out. The very next turn sees Mark return the favor with a JOrdan AT Jeep taking out the last Sho't. With no Armor left and only a couple of jeeps and half-tracks we call the game at that point. 4-3 to the Jordanians.

Jordan AT Jeep kills the last Israeli tank

Conclusions:  This battle was much closer then the first one. the Israelis had to cover some open ground and the Jordanians made them pay.

All told I lost all 9 Israeli tanks and I think the Jordanians also lost 9-10 tanks as well.

the highlights for me were killing 7 Pattons in the woods and my AT Jeep killing the Jordan CO.

Overall a very enjoyable game!
