I've got to admit I love spaceships. I loved them even before Star Wars forever cemented them in both my conscience and subconscious back in '77.
Starship miniature gaming as a whole is often treated as the illegitimate son of the hobby. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that it's a lot easier to relate to someone, even a mighty Space Marine, then to anthropomorphize a miniature Spaceship.
I, on the other hand, love hardware. Ships, tanks and aircraft of all kinds.
Above are some Battlestar Galactica-esque miniatures I painted for a home-made game. There is no official Battlestar Galactica miniatures game and there are no official BSG miniatures. But through the work of dedicated and talented amateur miniature sculptors on the web things like Battlestar Galactica miniatures can be realized.
To check out and order some great Battlestar Galactica-esq ships look at Studio Bergstrom!

ReplyDeleteHey, I ran across your post here while googling BSG miniatures. I've been tossing around the idea of making or purchasing a BSG chess set for some time now and I was wondering just how large these figures were, and/or if you knew of any place where I could find some? I would like all of the pieces to be the same size, no larger than 1 sq inch, though preferably only 1 sq cm, including a base star and the Galactica, and I haven't been able to find either of these anywhere yet.
ReplyDeleteHey Buckaroo,
ReplyDeleteLike your blog, and very cool BSG minis.
Didn't know people blogged about gaming until recently..
Could you tell me where you got these BSG minis from?
Cheers
